The problem with Flash videos not playing on Mac is also due to the fact that macOS does not have open compatibility with Adobe Flash Player, and therefore it can be solved by changing some browser settings to allow Flash videos to play on Mac.
Generally, you can fix the problem with Flash video not playing on Mac in the following ways.
- Install Adobe Flash Player
- Enable Flash in web browser
- Disable pop-up blocker
- Clear browser cache
- Uninstall/Reinstall Adobe Flash Player
Note. YouTube doesn’t use Flash and you shouldn’t have any problems playing YouTube videos on Mac using Safari or Chrome browsers.

1. Install Adobe Flash On Mac Player

Note. Make sure you are installing Flash Player from the official Adobe website and not from any other website.
2. Enable Flash In Safari/Chrome

Click the General tab and make sure External Hard Drives is selected. Click the Sidebar tab and make sure the external hard drive storage location is selected. Close the settings window. Your USB drive should now show up as a desktop icon in the Finder.
Even after installing Adobe Flash Player, Flash can still find videos that don’t play on Mac. This is due to Safari’s default locale, which only enables Flash for certain sites.
This can be fixed by going to Safari’s settings screen and easily doing so in the Plugins for Flash Player section.
In the top menu bar of any Mac, click the Safari tab, then click Preferences. Then click Websites and make sure the Adobe Flash Player plug-in is selected for the web presence image (see below).
In the lower best corner, you can see personal preferences for enabling Flash when visiting alternative websites. For safety reasonsIt is often recommended that you leave Flash enabled by default for individual sites.
In the case of the Chrome browser, you can enable Flash Player support by going to the “And – Privacy Security” section in Chrome’s advanced settings.
Click the three-dot menu icon in the upper right corner and select Settings. Scroll down and click “Advanced”. Scroll down again and here click on “Content Settings” under “Privacy and Security”. .
Then click Flash and turn on the “Ask me first (recommended)” option.
For all Chrome browsers, fully press the three-dot menu icon in the top right corner, then tap Settings. Scroll down to the Slicing section ” and click “Advanced”. Then scroll down to the “Privacy & Security” section and click “Content Settings”.
4. Disable Popup Blocker In Safari/Chrome

Go to the Apple menu and open System Preferences.Select Trackpad and go to the Point and Click tab.Check the box next to Click to Click.
Some online stores don’t allow you to play videos, no wonder, turn off the pop-up prevention feature in your web browser. You can try disabling popup effects for that particular website and see if you can watch the video.
In Safari, you can turn off the pop-up blocker by going to the “Security” section of the Safari settings screen.
Why is my Mac blocking Flash?
Viewing this content means that the specific version of the Flash Player plug-in on your personal computer does not have the latest Equity updates and is blocked. To continue using Adobe Flash Player, customers must download the update from the Adobe website.
In Chrome, anyone can enable “Blocked (Recommended)” in the “Unwanted” section, or enable pop-ups for a specific website by adding that site to the allow list in the “Pop-ups” section.
Note. In the previous image, pop-ups are only allowed for creating websites in the mentioned “Allow” section and disabled for all other websites.
5. Clear Browser Cache
If the video still doesn’t play, your web browser may be loading old cached pages instead of loading new ones.
To clear the cache in Chrome, click the familiar three-dot menu > More Tools, then click the Clear Browsing Data option.
On the next screen, make sure “Cached images combined with files” is checked and click the “Clear data” button.

6. Uninstall/Reinstall Adobe Flash Player
This fix may occur if the version of Adobe Flash Player installed on your Mac is corrupted or outdated.
Download the Flash Player for Mac uninstaller from the reputable Adobe website and follow the instructions to remove Flash Player from your Mac.
After uninstalling Flash Player, restart your Mac and download/install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player from the Adobe Executive website.
